If you need a college student visa
If the purpose of your visit to Japan is to study Japanese for more than three months, you will need a visa. A ‘college student visa’ allows you to study at a Japanese language school for a period of 1 year, and it is possible to extend the visa for another year. In general, the period which a student can stay in Japan for the purpose of studying Japanese is a maximum of 2 years.

  1. You must be at least 18 years of age, and have finished at least 12 years of education in your home country or have an equivalent educational background.
  2. You must be honest, studious, and enthusiastic to study
  3. You must have the financial resources to pay for tuition and living costs.

Ⅳ. From the time you apply until the time you arrive in Japan.

Student submits all the necessary documents and pays the Processing fee

School examines the documents that have been sent by applicant.
→ School informs successful students of their acceptance


Student pays processing fee,

School applies to Immigration Bureau of Japan (IBJ) for each applicant’s Certificate of Eligibility (CE).

School receives CE from IBJ and informs student. (Process takes 2 to 3 months)

Student pays tuition and other fees

School sends CE and a Certificate of Admission to the student

Student applies for a Pre-college student visa at a Japanese embassy or consulate.

Student receives Pre-college student visa, and prepares for coming to Japan. *Please inform us of the date of entry and we will arrange for someone to pick you up at the airport (There is a fee for this service)

Ⅴ. Scholarship

1.MANABI Scholarship

Eligible student receives scholarship in March
Criteria: All of the following conditions must be met

1) A student who holds a student Visa
2) A student who has been a MANABI student in our Academic program for 1 year or more.
3) A student whose class attendance is more than 90% and also has completed more than 90% of the homework assignment
4) A student who has actively participated and been involved in community events and volunteer work.

2.MANABI Award for class attendance and class effort
Eligible student receives in March
Criteria: –Has attended every class and completed 100% of homework assignments.

3.Other scholarship student can apply with the recommendation from the school

1. Japanese Language Education Organization Scholarship for Student(Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology)
Application Period: April to May Qualification: Attendance record of more than 90% and planning to study at Graduate school University or technical college. Award: 50,000yen per month for 12 months.

2. LSH Asia Scholarship
Application period: April to July Qualification: Must be an Asian student Award: 25,000Yen per month for 6 months

3. Reservation Program for Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students
